Rouse & Co.

Rouse & Co. is a specialist intellectual property law firm. One of their principal clients is Standard Chartered Bank (SCB).

Rouse & Co. wished to deliver a range of client specific data to SCB staff over their propriety extranet. This involves staff in countries around the world from Australia to Zambia.

Once Pilot had the project specifics, we built a layout and functionality blueprint based on Pilot’s CMS engine. The blue print was customized to Rouse & Co.’s needs, and spelled out layout-by-layout the required functionality.

With the client’s sign off, Pilot briefed our development team in Chennai. The Chennai team works to a methodology and use templates developed by Pilot. The custom software returned by the team was then tested in Hong Kong by Pilot staff.

Pilot also briefed our graphic design partner Spin who came back with a number of interface design options for the client to chose from. With the client’s feedback, Spin were able to develop the design and provide to Pilot the completed HTML frontend design.

The Chennai team integrated the HTML into the backend CMS, created the import scripts for the client’s content.

Pilot posted a draft working website with dummy content on the Pilot server for the client to check. With a few tweaks, Pilot was ready to install on the client’s network, and run the import scripts to import all the client data from specifically prepared Excel spreadsheets and file folders – this ensures delivery of a turnkey solution, not an empty vessel.

Pilot maintains a secure link to the Rouse & Co. server in order to apply updates and fixes remotely.

With training of staff at Rouse & Co. and delivery of a simple to understand user manual, the extranet was ready to be deployed. Rouse & Co. staff can manage and update the content themselves from now on.

A broadcast email is sent to all the SCB users, with an overview of the extranet’s features and their unique login / password.

Rouse & Co. is happy and importantly their client is happy.
